Its Milanese architect Michele De Lucchi believes that a designer's responsibility is to represent the current time period, and that a designer's product can influence the user's behavior (Bellati, 1990). More than fifteen years after the “Tolomeo” first appeared, Michele De Lucchi's creation is still a very popular international light fixture.
